On 26th June 2026, Arise Centre proudly hosted its Annual Open Day, bringing together PFP teams, partners, government representatives, community members, trainees, and alumni to celebrate the transformative power of vocational skills development and youth empowerment.
One of the most inspiring highlights of the day was the live skills demonstrations, where trainees and alumni confidently showcased the practical skills they had gained over six months of intensive training. From engineering and catering to beauty and fashion design, participants demonstrated their craftsmanship, creativity, and professionalism, proving that quality vocational education equips young people with the skills to build sustainable livelihoods.
We were honoured to welcome Ms. Nora Achola, an experienced TVET professional, whose keynote address emphasized the critical role of quality technical and vocational education in empowering young people and creating pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.

The Open Day also provided a valuable learning and benchmarking opportunity for PFP teams from Endebess, Remba, and Narok. The Endebess team drew practical lessons from Arise Centre's successful model as they prepare to establish the Veronica Cheptegei Centre, expanding access to vocational training for even more young people.
The event was a powerful reminder that when young people are equipped with practical skills, mentorship, and opportunity, they become innovators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers in their communities. At Arise Centre, we remain committed to nurturing talent, creating opportunities, and transforming lives through vocational education.
Our trainees brought learning to life through live practical demonstrations, showcasing the skills they had developed over six months of training.

The engineering trainees demonstrated welding, metal fabrication, and the safe use of workshop equipment.

Catering trainees prepared and presented a variety of dishes while displaying their food preparation and presentation skills.

Beauty trainees performed hairstyling, makeup application, manicures, and other beauty treatments.

Fashion and design trainees displayed garments they had designed and sewn, while demonstrating cutting, stitching, and finishing techniques.

They also demonstrated their reusable sanitary pads packs:

These demonstrations reflected not only the trainees' technical abilities but also their creativity, confidence, and readiness for employment and entrepreneurship.
