EMPOWERING 1000 GIRLS WITH A UNIQUE SEX EDUCATION PROGRAM(Sugar Daddy Awareness )

In January 2019, long before I founded GreatGold Impact Foundation, I volunteered with Prof. T. N. Okujagu Foundation (O’Foundation) a free skills acquisition program that registered over 500 students per session. As part of my role as Secretary and Project Coordinator, I mentored teenage girls after every training session. During one of those sessions, I met three girls aged 13–15, Two already had children aged 2–3, yet were still in secondary school. They became my babies. I mentored them consistently for one year after our trainings. Today, they have all completed university, and we still keep in touch on WhatsApp and Facebook.

Infact, one of them is currently serving and was part of those that got a laptop through my Laptop initiative for Corp Members.

Later, while volunteering with Hadassah Healing Foundation, I encountered more young girls who were dating much older men( Zaddy or sugar daddy as they are called) including “Yahoo boys” and men providing school fees or basic needs in exchange for relationships. I did what I could in those moments. Listening, mentoring, guiding, and intervening where possible.

I also volunteered and was part of the team that brought Pure Path Sensitization to schools in Ikerre-Ekiti, Ekitit State Nigeria. This initiative impacted over 2,000 girls via Lush Foundation and since then, this project is still ongoing...

These experiences stayed with me. They revealed a painful pattern, teenage girls pushed into risky, cross-generational relationships due to poverty, lack of information, and silence around sexual health. Seeing this repeatedly is what led me to formally register GreatGold Impact Foundation, and to intentionally focus our work on prevention, not just recovery and collaborate with other Organizations too.

What We Are Doing

GreatGold Impact Foundation is launching Sugar Daddy Awareness Sessions a focused, one-hour educational intervention designed to help secondary school girls understand the risks of dating significantly older men, yahoo guys and empower them to protect their futures and take their education seriously. Too many children are on the street due to early pregnancies and the rate of school drop out is high in rural communities.

It is unique sex education program, it is going to be a knowledge-based, evidence-informed intervention that equips girls with facts, confidence, and agency.

Our Proven Intervention

Each Sugar Daddy Awareness Session will be delivered by a trained female facilitator in community and public secondary schools, as well as safe community learning spaces.

Each one-hour session includes:

A guided discussion on the risks of cross-generational relationships (health, education, power imbalance, and long-term consequences)

A 20-minute educational video presented in a culturally sensitive and age-appropriate way

Interactive in-class activities that encourage reflection, questions, and peer learning. Gifts and refreshment for these girls.

A short, focused talk reinforcing one core message; relationships with much older men expose teenage girls to higher risks of school dropout, unplanned pregnancy, and long-term poverty, contacting HIV/AIDS and other related diseases.

The sessions are delivered once per group, ensuring clarity, consistency, and scalability.

Why This Matters

In many Nigerian communities, teenage girls enter these relationships without fully understanding the risks. Silence, poverty, and misinformation rob them of choice. When girls are informed, they make safer decisions. Knowledge is protection.
