This is the era of mass communication and global networking. Gone are the days where we had to wait for several days to receive a letter, now all it takes is a click of a button. Technological advancements have made the world our oyster. The prospect of Web 2.0 is not only exciting but it is a portal of adventure and discovery. The Web has bought the world within the frames of our finger tips, where we can gather information, browse the latest event, share our thoughts and where we have complete liberation, in its truest sense. Now, we have the power. This medium gives us the freedom of speech and expression which begets the change that we demand and deserve.
Accessibility to the web is a world-wide phenomenon, which is empowering women to raise their voices and act upon wrong doings in a global scale. Even before we were loving mothers, responsible daughters and dutiful wives, we are first and foremost women, and our responsibility to that role should be the number one priority.
This medium has given me the opportunity to collaborate with women from all over the world, and communicate with them in a sort of bond and friendship, that knows no borders or boundaries but simply relies on a common ground for a common cause. The web is an excellent opportunity where women can engage and explore each other and listen to the numerous stories that we each have to tell. It is a platform in which together we have the strength to make a global impact and procure change, so that the future generation of girls and women can have better lives. The web is allowing women from various parts of the world to come together for a similar cause, and making each movement a successful one. Women across generations and social status can come together for a common cause, and with the help of the web has the ability to shake the world-literally.
This sense of independence and capability is very empowering for me. Firstly, without the web, could I have had the chance to express myself to the ample women through World Pulse? Where else would I get the opportunity to show my views to the world? Slowly I am being inspired and motivated to see and hear the different stories of women through this media. Newspapers due to their censorship cannot always give accurate information, but here, I am able to listen to these women through their perspectives, their words and their first-hand experiences, which is an honour. Women around the globe have so much to say, have so much potential and so much to give. Their duality and versatility amazes me every day, it teaches me to be a better woman a better human being. In this lifetime and the next, I want to be born as a girl, because we are the source of creation, purity and power.
