Dear Daughter Series: Raising Confident Girls Through Mentorship and Conversations

Many young girls in my community grow up without safe spaces to ask questions, express themselves, or learn how to navigate life with confidence. Cultural silence, broken homes, lack of guidance, and limited mentorship leave many girls emotionally unsure, vulnerable, and afraid to speak up for themselves.

I started the Dear Daughter Series because I believe girls need more than survival skills they need voice, confidence, and affirmation. This initiative is rooted in the belief that when a girl understands that she is enough, she is less likely to tolerate abuse, manipulation, or silence herself in unsafe spaces.

Through this initiative, I host intentional conversations with young girls, sharing life lessons, guidance, and emotional support.

Using WhatsApp and small group discussions, I talk with them about self-worth, boundaries, identity, purpose, education, and personal growth in a language they understand and can relate to.

So far, we will be reaching them through WhatsApp conversations and mentoring, going to there schools once a week and I plan to continue expanding this safely and intentionally.

The main challenge is limited resourcesto get to more schools and time. What I need most is visibility, encouragement, and collaboration to reach more girls and strengthen this work.

I will be asking my sisters here from time to time to send me letters i will be sharing with these young girls too.
