A Stand Against Rape and Violence in Marriage

Too often, silence protects abusers.
Too often, culture says, it’s his right.
Too often, a woman says “no”—and is met with fists, fear, or force.
**Let us be clear:
Rape is rape even in marriage.
Violence is violence even behind closed doors.
And no woman deserves pain because she protected her body.
When a man becomes violent because sex is refused, it is not passion. It is power.
It is not love. It is control.
And it harms not only the woman but the children who hear, who see, who grow up afraid.
Children become silent witnesses.
They learn that love means fear.
That “no” is ignored.
That mothers suffer in silence.
But no marriage justifies abuse.
No tradition cancels consent.
And no woman should live in fear of the man she shares a home with.
We stand with every woman who has flinched at a touch.
With every mother who has cried quietly so the children would not hear.
With every girl who has learned too early that her body is not her own.
Consent is not optional. It is sacred.
And when it is ignored, it is a crime.
We call on communities, leaders, and men of conscience:
To Speak up when silence is easier
Teach boys to respect, not dominate
Support women who speak out
Protect children from trauma they did not cause
Help is available.
You are not alone.
Healing is possible.
