A New Opportunity Because of World Pulse

Seeking
Encouragement

The call came on a quiet summer night.
“How are you?”
Then came the words I will never forget:
“We have decided to hire you in recognition of your talent, your outstanding storytelling, and the international awards you have received — most recently from World Pulse and UN Women for humanitarian work and storytelling.”
The call ended, but its beautiful impact remained in my heart.
What once began as a simple word of encouragement from Kirti, Jill, Tamarack, and the entire beloved World Pulse community has now become a success that Sudanese people can truly be proud of.
Everywhere I went — whether to a workshop, a social gathering, or even moments of joy and sorrow — people stopped to congratulate me and share their kindness. The happiest among them were my colleagues in journalism, my close friends, and especially the Pulse of the World community and the Sheena Katz Podcast, who reflected my real journey of supporting women through the Nora Initiative to Combat Violence Against Women in exile.
This happiness is not mine alone. It is a small light of hope for a country exhausted by war, and a reminder that the voices of Sudanese women can still reach the world.
My stories proved that the world, through World Pulse, truly values women and cares about their experiences. They also proved that honest words and sincere encouragement can create something close to magic in people’s lives.
I am deeply proud and grateful to world pulse community for giving me the opportunity to share my voice with the world. I am grateful to the world pulse communiy, whose encouragement felt like a warm light in the middle of overwhelming darkness.
To all my dear sisters and friends — onward always,
and may kindness, solidarity, and affection continue to unite us
