The Anatomy of Peace – A Medical and Diplomatic Manifesto

The Issue: The Biological Exclusion

As a psychiatrist specializing in psychosexual medicine, I spend my life listening to the stories the body tells when the mind is too tired to speak. I see the "gender cage" not as an abstract concept, but as a clinical reality that stifles human potential. Recently, through transformative dialogues with Patricia Elias—G100 Chair for Government Advocacy and Senior Advisor to UN Women—I realized that the global "language of war" is drafted in rooms that lack the very heartbeat of humanity.

We have lived too long under a system where, as I often say, "He who is without ovaries shall not make laws for those who do." This isn't just a witty remark; it is a demand for biological integrity. When 100% of a law-making body lacks the lived experience of 50% of the population, the resulting peace is medically and socially incomplete.

Why It Is Urgent: The Dignity of the Body

Peace is not merely the absence of conflict; it is the presence of dignity for the human body.

* The Clinical Invisibility: Decisions regarding humanitarian aid and infrastructure often ignore menstrual hygiene and reproductive safety because women are not at the table to voice these "biological necessities".

* The Leadership Deficit: With women making up less than 10% of negotiators, the global blueprint for peace is missing the expertise of those who manage community resilience and trauma every single day.

* Beyond the Ceasefire: When men alone write the law, they negotiate a pause in violence—a ceasefire. Only when women lead do we negotiate Peace.

The Vision: Healing Justice

In this collaboration, Patricia provides the diplomatic bridge to the UN, while I provide the clinical evidence for Healing Justice. We are reclaiming the 25-year-old promise of UN Security Council Resolution 1325. Our mission is focused on:

* Participation: Real, non-symbolic seats for women at every level of power.

* Protection: Hard accountability for gender-based violence, ensuring it is never again used as a silent weapon of war.

* Prevention: Integrating a gender-sensitive lens into conflict early-warning systems.

* Relief and Recovery: Ensuring post-conflict resources prioritize the specific health and psychological needs of women and girls.

Impact Goal: 10,000 Voices for March 2026
